CFLS | Opening Ceremony of the 23rd Foreign Languages and Cultural Festival

　　On the afternoon of December 20, 2021, the 23rd Foreign Languages and Cultural Festival of CFLS with the theme of "Master a Foreign Language, Spread Chinese Culture, Shape the image of China!" was grandly held in the multifunctional lecture hall.  Principal Wang Hao, Secretary Zhao Qingwen, Vice Principal Yang Zhongshan, Vice Principal Zhang Lianfeng, Deputy Director Wang Zhongshan of the International Department, Director Li Yuehua of the Junior High School English Teaching and Research Office, Director Shi Yanjin of Grade Seven, Director Liu Ting of Grade Nine, some parent representatives and all the teachers and students of Grade Seven attended the opening ceremony. Serena, Melanie and Josiah, the foreign teachers of the International Department, and three junior high school English teachers are serving as the judges of the Foreign Language Culture Festival.

　　Principal Wang Hao announced the opening of the Foreign Languages and Cultural Festival. Amid thunderous applause, the Foreign Language Culture Festival kicked off with the first "Sing the Youth" chorus competition of Grade Seven.

　　Although it is cold in winter, the youngsters always keep that burning dream in their hearts. This chorus competition fully integrated the theme of "Master a Foreign Language, Spread Chinese Culture, Shape the image of China!", fully demonstrating the spirit of civilization, enterprising, collaboration and innovation of our students.

　　It only takes a musical note to evoke waves in the chest. It is a boiling, firm dream; it is a hot, passionate love. The students of CFLS sing youth, full of vigor and melodious singing!  Accompanied by wonderful music melody, the elegant dance is full of youthful vigor! Each class meticulously prepared songs with the characteristics of the times and integrated with the classics, which made the atmosphere in the venue very cheerful and lively, demonstrated the characteristics of multi-cultural integration, embodied the cohesion of CFLSers, achieving a perfect fit between art and culture.

　　The skewers of different styles of performances constantly surprise the stage, and the youthful atmosphere rejuvenates the classic old songs. The audience under the stage interacted frequently with the performers on the stage, and the whole chorus competition was immersed in a joyous atmosphere.

　　At the end of the event, the well-loved teacher Lin Xiangming appeared in surprise and sang English songs at the finale, pushing the atmosphere of the audience to a climax again.

　　The splendid first-year "Sing the Youth" English song chorus competition came to an end, and the school leaders presented awards to the winning classes!

　　In the chorus competition of this foreign languages and cultural festival, students not only felt the charm of multiculturalism, but also reaped a different kind of joy. The students actively participated, worked together and used their brilliant performances to create sparks while enjoying the fun of English.

　　The 23rd Foreign Languages and Cultural Festival constantly seeks a perfect fit between culture and art, demonstrates the respect for Western art and respect for Chinese civilization, and creates a visual gluttony of culture and art.
