CFLS | Chen Silin, Won the Honor of “Best Delegation” in the 18th China MUN Conference

　　Chen Silin, an outstanding graduate of our school, won the Best Delegation Award with his partner at the 18th China Model United Nations Congress, which is the highest-level award in this competition.

　　On October 28, the 18th China Model United Nations General Assembly opened.The event, sponsored by the United Nations Association of China, supported by the International Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and hosted by Shandong University, has the theme of "Pool the Strength of Youth and Build a Human Community with a Shared Future."

　　The United Nations Association of China first founded the China Model United Nations General Assembly in 2004, which is the most authoritative and closest to the United Nations in China. The aim is to promote the concept of the United Nations among young students in colleges and universities, popularize the knowledge of the United Nations, and train high-quality young talents with international vision and the ability to participate in global governance.

　　In this competition, Chen Silin participated in UNGA Third Committee as a representative of South Africa. In the venue, Chen Silin and the contestants at the same venue discussed the implementation and follow-up of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action, which achieved great results at the end of the session. When talking about his views on the competition process, Chen Silin said: "This competition has helped me a lot in different aspects. In the process of participating, we were divided into different groups of countries to determine our own positions. and seriously discuss issues related to the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action. This has enabled me to fully learn about the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action and to gain a better understanding of the efforts made by countries around the world in the cause of human rights. At the same time, I have become more confident and have the courage to express my views in English in front of many people. "

　　Chen said: "My achievements are inseparable from my middle school, Changchun Foreign Languages School." When I was in junior high school, the school organized my classmates to go to Beijing to attend the World Youth MUN Conference. At that time, I was ignorant about the MUN Conference, but after a competition experience, I gradually mastered the specific rules and spirit of the MUN conference. This laid a solid foundation for me to better participate in the Model United Nations General Assembly in high school. Our school gave greater support and encouragement when I participated in more MUN competitions on behalf of the school.I was honored to be elected vice president of the school MUN community in the second year of senior high school.

　　At the same time, Chen Silin also mentioned his teachers. They patiently taught me relevant academic knowledge and supported him during the competition. He thanked his parents, who would prepare all the security work for him so that he could participate in every competition smoothly.
