On January 28, 2022, the online meeting of the Good Cop Bad Cop Model United Nations Conference, recommended by the China Education International Exchange Association and co-hosted by British educational institutions Engage with China and The Grange School, came to a successful conclusion. Relying on the just concluded 26th Session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP26), this conference will focus on whether the Paris Agreement can be fully and effectively implemented, whether developed countries can fulfill their commitments, and whether they can promote fairness and inclusive climate action etc.



The 154 students who participated in this online meeting represented 15 different schools in three continents, Europe, Asia and Australia. They participated in the discussion of hot issues in the international community as UN diplomats, expressed their views according to the procedures of the UN. ,and thereby reach consensus and build global awareness.
Principal Wang Hao has always attached great importance to the cultivation of CFLS students' Global Competence, and has won valuable opportunities for our students to participate in this conference, so that the MUN community can show the students' demeanor on the international stage. In this Model United Nations Conference, the CFLS Model United Nations delegation was led by Teacher Qi Lina, and sent a total of 13 representatives and 2 members of the presidium. The representatives of our school lived up to expectations during the meeting, brought an academic feast, and left many wonderful moments.

Before the conference, the British media BBC Broadcasting Company conducted an interview with the members of the presidium of the conference. The organizing committee sent a total of three conference chairmen to interview, two of them are from the United Kingdom, and the other is our school's student Chen Silin. In the interview, Chen Silin introduced the topics of the conference in detail to the BBC reporter and shared his views on climate change. He proposed: "Cooperation will benefit both, and separation will hurt both. Only by uniting and working together can we solve the problem of climate change." At the same time, Chen Silin also introduced the upcoming Chinese New Year to BBC reporters, and showed international friends how to greet the New Year in Chinese. His performance fully demonstrated the elegance and excellence of CFLS students, as well as their global competence and international vision.








At the beginning of the conference, representatives from all walks of life expressed their views on climate change and wished the conference a successful hosting. The Chinese embassy in the UK also sent Chinese diplomats to congratulate the conference and said that China is willing to join hands with other countries in the world to create a better future.
In the initial stage of the meeting, representatives of various countries integrated different resources, collided with each other, and contributed wisdom on the major issue of reducing carbon emissions. From resources to the environment, and then from the environment to ecology, this process provided Chinese wisdom for global environmental governance. with the Chinese program. At the same time, objectively, with the vision of international youth, it sublimates the era value of building a community with a shared future for mankind.










CFLS students responded quickly during the meeting and adhered to the school motto of "National Awareness, International Vision". Our students stand firm and give full play to their rich knowledge and excellent eloquence. In a heated confrontation, they jointly explored effective solutions and practically demonstrated the importance of replacing zero-sum games with communication. Because peace and development are the themes of our times. After the main speech session, the delegates entered the three sub-venues respectively. This part also tests the comprehensive thinking ability and on-the-spot reaction ability of the delegates. In the face of the draft resolutions from representatives of various countries, the representatives of our school carefully considered every word, helped each other, adhered to the perspective of humanitarianism and an international perspective, and applied the knowledge acquired in the school appropriately, with quick responses and incisive sentences. Although there were differences during the conference, CFLS students persisted in perplexity, accepted challenges, and communicated properly and effectively. They broadened their horizons in the international platform, cultivated the ability of team coordination and critical thinking, became more calm, and ushered in the blooming moments of unexpected encounters again and again. In the third session, the draft resolutions discussed by the representatives of various countries were drafted by a group led by the current president of the CFLS MUN, Piao Yiwen. The representatives of our school responded confidently and fluently to the questions raised by other representatives at the meeting, which has won the recognition of the representatives from various countries. At the same time, in the first sub-venue, Zhang Yun and Chen Silin (respectively the president and vice president of the last MUN) served as the chairman of the conference, leading the representatives of various countries in the venue to discuss issues together. A draft resolution in line with the demands of international interests was formed and passed.
After the conference, the presidium sent three chairmen to introduce the specific situation of the venue respectively. Among them, Chen Silin, a member of the presidium of our school, introduced the draft resolution reached by Carbon Tax at the venue he chaired to all the members of the conference. Chen Silin also said that the issue of environmental protection has become one of the important issues threatening human society in recent years. It is hoped that participants can enhance their awareness of environmental protection through this conference, and start from themselves to protect the environment and build a better future for the world!
Model United Nations provided a platform for CFLS students to show themselves and improve themselves. As excellent CFLSers, they should not only cooperate and communicate to seek a win-win situation, but also have the empathy of family,country and world, with the reflection and refinement to return to ourselves.
Today's MUN conference cultivates students' interest and creativity, improves students' learning ability and adaptability skills, and gives students with dreams more confidence in the future world stage! Model United provides a platform for our long-term foreign students to express themselves and improve themselves. It teaches us not only cooperation and win-win, but also family and world spirit, as well as self-reflection and tempering.

In this UK Model United Nations conference, the profound academic literacy, unique way of thinking, and excellent expression ability of the representatives of the Model United Nations will surely lay a more solid ladder for us to shine on a larger stage in the future. We will uphold the fine tradition of MUN, continue to move forward with enthusiasm and sense of responsibility, create greater glories for our alma mater, and contribute to our great motherland!
