"Teaching without researching is shallow while researching without teaching is empty.". "Teaching" and "research" are the only way to promote teachers' professional growth and development.
Based on the English Curriculum Standards for Compulsory Education, the overall classroom design under the general concept is implemented to realize the integration of "teaching, learning and assessment", give play to the principal role of students in the process of English learning and understanding, and encourage students to observe, analyze and think about the meaning of discourse themes.

After several rounds of course modification and polishing, Teacher Xu Dan presented an extended reading class based on the new curriculum standard "health" in the wisdom classroom on April 20th. Zhang Yanling, director of the Academic Affairs Office, Wang Shudan, director of the English Teaching and Research Office of Junior High School, and all the English teachers of the junior high school watched the discussion class. Meanwhile, young teachers from Changchun Jingyue Foreign Language Experimental School, led by Li Yuehua, director of the Junior High School English Teaching and Research Office, also participated in the activity.

Xu Dan, a junior high school English teacher, pays attention to student's physical and mental health in English teaching, pays attention to the cultivation of students' abilities, actively participates in the research of English teaching methods, and guides students to achieve excellent results in various competitions. Ms. Xu gave a wonderful seminar on junior high school English teaching. In this class, she takes different themes of discourse reading as the content, relies on the topic of "health", and takes "How to have a healthy lifestyle" as the main line. Through discourse reading, she can master the characteristics of different genres of articles, and select effective reading strategies and methods according to different genres to improve students' thinking quality and reading ability. The introduction of health concepts, such as physical health, mental health, social health, etc., to guide the whole teaching process, to enhance students' comprehensive knowledge and understanding of health. The course is rich in content, clear clues, in-depth explanation, and a strong sense of class participation.

With health as the theme, Ms. Xu cultivated students' reading strategies by setting task-based activities, constructing language knowledge and learning ability, and explaining three types of text reading. Through discourse learning, students can understand the characteristics of three different genres and adopt effective reading strategies and skills based on the genres of the articles to better grasp the articles' structure and understand the articles' connotations. In the process of teaching the new course, the question chain is used to arouse students' thinking, so that students' thinking can be transferred; To let the students feel how to solve a small problem and finally solve the big problem learning process. In addition, the teaching methods of discussion and group cooperation are used to cultivate the quality of thinking and cultural awareness, so that students can establish good health awareness, develop good healthy living habits, and cultivate their self-management and health awareness.

After the course, all the teachers spoke highly of this course, fully affirmed the teachers' teaching design and the student's classroom performance, and gave specific and targeted guidance to the teaching ideas and teaching methods reflected in the teaching. Director Zhang Yanling of the Academic Affairs Office, Director Li Yuehua of the Junior High School English Teaching and Research Office, and Director Wang Shudan led all the teachers to conduct in-depth discussions. For future English teaching, we should strive to achieve the following goals: First, we should closely follow the New Curriculum Standards, take the discourse as the key, take the vocabulary as the target, and improve the students' comprehensive language application ability step by step. Second, we should pay attention to the diversity of reading materials and cultivate students' independent reading ability and humanistic quality. Thirdly, cultivate students' logical thinking, carefully design classroom teaching questions, and establish a three-dimensional thinking mode composed of multiple directions, multiple starting points, multiple logical rules, multiple evaluation criteria, and multiple thinking structures in the process of guiding students' thinking, to truly start from the quality of thinking to implement the cultivation of core quality of English discipline.

In future teaching activities, the English group of CFLS will face the new era, strengthen the new concept of curriculum reform, carry out teaching exploration around the High School Entrance Examination, deeply study the new curriculum standards, create real and vivid English learning situations, and improve the core quality of students' English subjects.
